The Theory of Everything
Unifying Consciousness, Causation, Reality and Physics

"The purpose of science is to understand reality. Despite modern science and technology advancements to explore high-level abstracts (e.g., universe, systems, materials, computers, etc.), our understanding of fundamental physics is incomplete and contradictory. While relativity and quantum physics explain different realities from their own perspectives, no physics framework satisfies a universal explanation of reality. This transfers the discussion to metaphysics and even to religion. However, this research opens new avenues in physics for the unification of relativity and quantum physics. Further, it enables fundamental physicists to systematically investigate the role of consciousness/mind in the causation and governance of reality."

Relativity and quantum physics, the fundamental models of reality, couldn’t be unified in a widely acceptable way without further complication. While relativity accurately modelled gravity, which applies to larger masses, quantum mechanics is required to explain the uncertainty in particle physics. While the two models are not complements, they are also contradicting. For example, Quantum entanglement makes the universe non-local, challenging the relativity that limits communication speed to the speed of light. The quantum field theory emerged to unify the fundamental forces of nature, but gravity remains elusive. Neither relativity nor quantum physics explain the causation of nature, leaving it to metaphysics.

It appears that science has discarded consciousness, the fundamental dimension of reality in the physics frameworks, which makes fundamental physics incompatible in quantum and space-time domains. We brought consciousness as a fundamental dimension of reality, unifying relativity and quantum physics. While explaining gravity and quantum entanglement, it unified local and non-local realities. Our framework enables bringing consciousness into physicalism. Therefore, consciousness can be studied under physics as a law of nature. In that way, reality is an interplay of consciousness, energy and matter. This will open new avenues in fundamental physics to systematically investigate the role of consciousness in the causation and governance of reality.

The concept of consciousness has ancient roots in early philosophies and religions. Meditation, which is an evolving popular tool for observing and investigating the status of the mind, has been used for experiences beyond the five senses - sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch. Despite the fact that physical observation is narrowed to the five senses, science recognises the mind's significance yet grapples with the mind-body problem, the elusive "hard problem" of consciousness. Our research underpins the idea that consciousness is fundamental to causation and reality.  Further, we suggest that consciousness should be systematically reviewed and explored in the STEM (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) field.

In our research trilogy, we established the idea that consciousness governs causation. The consciousness underpins the experience of reality and creates energy and matter. Those energy and matter abstract the qualities of the consciousness, adhering to the integrity of consciousness. The interplay of consciousness, matter and energy underpins the integrity of what we experience and observe in reality. This natural experience is caused by consciousness. However, that fails to be identified since consciousness is not explored enough in mainstream science or engineering. As a solution, our consciousness-based framework promotes the importance of investigating consciousness as a fundamental dimension of reality.

Unifying Matter, Energy and Consciousness

We mathematically modelled the interplay of consciousness, matter and energy. We correlated the brain's electromagnetic energy to consciousness. Consciousness is a sequential process that relates to a single state of reality at a given instant and underpins awareness when the process continues. The consciousness cycle is the shortest duration to be aware of the change of reality by an observer. Through that model, we illustrated consciousness as the fundamental process of creating matter and energy. We relate this model to relativity and quantum physics. Consciousness constructs space-time based on awareness. Further, when the observer is moving, both time and consciousness dilate. Consciousness correlates with quantum mechanics and behaves according to wave-particle duality. This enabled the unification of relativity and quantum mechanics based on consciousness. Further, this paper establishes the notion of why reality is compatible with life and why nature appears to be a grand design for diverse life forms.

Unifying Causation, Relativity and Quantum Mechanics based on Consciousness

We showed that consciousness and change are fundamentals of reality which govern the causation. They create the perception of awareness and time. Awareness is a construct which emerges from a conscious process. Reality behaves such that awareness is preserved and maintains the integrity of conscious experiences. Consequently, the whole concept of space-time is a construct of consciousness. The experiences and postulates in relativity are associated with consciousness and its interplay with matter and energy. By replacing time with consciousness, we described the causation of relativity. The causation of gravity is a phenomenon which maintains the integrity of conscious experiences or preserved awareness when interacting with mass and energy. In a similar strategy that consciousness is mapped into time to understand the causation of relativity, consciousness is mapped into uncertainty and unpredictability to understand the causation of quantum mechanics. That enabled the establishment of consciousness as a common base for relativity and quantum mechanics and unified both frameworks.

Unifying Local and Non-Local Realities based on Consciousness

We showed that consciousness can unify local and non-local realities. Consciousness is intricately interweaving with reality and maintains integrity with the behaviour of reality. This integrity is causal, deterministic and unpredictable due to complexity, but not random. Consciousness has been integrated with the standard model of particle physics for understanding the non-local reality in quantum entanglement. Quantum entanglement establishes universal awareness beyond the experience of five sensors or materialism. The influence of observation or measurement transforms reality from non-local to local, violating the consciousness dimension. That conscious model of particle physics will motivate physicists to explore consciousness with other elementary particles.

Consciousness is a fundamental dimension of reality that governs causation. Our experiences and observations perceive the integrity in the reality of what is caused by consciousness. Since both relativity and quantum physics evolved by disregarding consciousness, that makes the fundamental physical models incompatible.  By accounting consciousness, both relativity and quantum physics can be unified. Our trilogy promotes a deep dive into consciousness, exploring consciousness in the STEM field. This will create new avenues in fundamental physics and extend our observation and awareness of reality beyond our five sensors.

“By bringing consciousness as a fundamental dimension of physics, relativity and quantum physics can be unified to explain causation and governance of reality.”
